EU import safety declarations required in Great Britain from January 2025
Alberti e Santi would like to inform you about an important change in UK import regulations. From 31 January 2025, any goods imported from the EU to Great Britain must be covered by a safety and security declaration (also known as ‘entry summary declarations’ or ‘ENS’).
Key changes
All shipments must have an Entry Summary Declaration submitted to UK customs before arrival. This requirement applies to goods arriving by sea, air, rail, or road.
The ENS must be submitted at least 24 hours before goods are scheduled to arrive in the UK.
You will need to provide essential details including:
- Information about the Consignor and Consignee
- Goods description and their HS codes
- Transport details
- Any other relevant shipment information
Why This Is Important?
If the ENS is not submitted correctly or on time, it could result in delays, fines, or even the rejection of good at UK ports.
The new system helps improve security and streamline customs processes, ensuring smoother imports for your business.
If you have questions or need assistance with submitting the ENS, feel free to contact us. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team if you need additional guidance.
